My rhododendron shoots turn brown. What can I do? |
(Survey: General maintenance of rhododendrons ) |
| The wrongdoer in this case is a green insect (resembling small grasshoppers) which transfer a mould infection onto your plants when laying their eggs. This causes the shoots to turn brown and the growth to decelerate. In case of a more serious infection, thousands of these insects spring from the leaves when you touch them. Can be treated thanks to an insecticide in August (for example Ekamet or Ripcord 10). | | Link: nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cicade |
