The provincial domain of Bokrijk, which is known for its open-air museum, covers about 550 acres. The arboretum covers approximately 18 acres. It has been laid out in 1965, at first as a systematical collection and later as an attractive garden where different kinds of trees, shrubs and herbs are combined.
